Bella Floria Organics is committed to providing its customers with the best in organic and natural skincare, beauty and aromatherapy products. We carefully select brands for quality ingredients, efficacy, and ethical considerations. We personally test each and every product ourselves and scrutinize every ingredient listed. We also ask about manufacturing processes. So you can be assured that our products not only help you feel and look your best, but also help the environment.
We support brands that use only the best organic and natural ingredients fresh from nature, and that do not contain potentially harmful chemicals such as phthalates, parabens, and petrochemicals. We also encourage less environmental waste through support of eco-friendly production and packaging.
Our company values are based on the following principles:
Authentic, Not Synthetic. We offer only organic and natural products from reputable manufacturers with a track record of purity, quality, and efficacy.
Be Kind. (To the Earth. To Animals. To Yourself.) We offer products that are ethically produced, and that help promote a cleaner planet. Our trusted brands do not contain potentially harmful synthetic chemicals and are never tested on animals. They come from natural ingredients that are healthier for you, healthier for the planet.
Do Right. We believe in doing good, so we will donate 5% of profits annually to various charities that help preserve the environment, protect animals, and help people in need.
Emelyn Rodriguez, CEO & Founder Bella Floria Organics
Emelyn Rodriguez is a former print journalist and a practicing attorney. As a former staff writer for newspapers including the Los Angeles Times, the Seattle Times and the San Francisco Examiner, Ms. Rodriguez's assignments included covering healthcare and medicine, education and law. She was a finalist for the Livingston Award, honoring the best young journalists in the country. She has worked extensively in public service, volunteering for non-profit organizations such as United Way and Legal Services.
She founded Bella Floria Organics as a natural extension of her public service roots. With widespread consumer confusion about products claiming to be "organic" and "natural," (and a recent lawsuit by the California Attorney General against retailers and manufacturers whose "organic and natural products" tested positive for carcinogenic 1,4-Dioxane) Ms. Rodriguez created Bella Floria Organics, a consumer-oriented site that goes beyond marketing and labels and does research that the average consumer may find too difficult or time-consuming.
Bella Floria Organics is foremost a consumer service site, offering only approved brands and product lines that are truly organic and natural. Ms. Rodriguez requires a full ingredient listing from each manufacturer. She then personally tests each product and reviews each ingredient with a cosmetics safety database, and when necessary, consulting independent medical and scientific experts about safety and purity. The site will also feature Bella Floria Pure Living Magazine, a source of truthful consumer information, news, and green living tips.
Ms. Rodriguez is a U.C. Berkeley graduate with B.A. degrees in Mass Communications and Political Science. She is also has a J.D. degree from U.C. Davis' King Hall School of Law.
