MOKSA ORGANICS—A SIMPLE KIND OF CLEAN

Moksa founders Haskell and Melanie Martin started with a simple conviction. They wanted to start a company that can offer conscientious and truthful products. They wanted to do something different than the norm. They wanted to bypass the vast amounts of wasted materials being used, bulk packaging, and cheap chemicals used in products and foods that have a list of ingredients a mile long. What's more is they wanted to do away with the false marketing and chemicals that most people can't even pronounce.

They spent hours of research and discovered that most household products and personal hygiene products in the past were made by hand using natural ingredients that come from the earth. As an experiment, they decided to make some of their products. Much to their surprise, they had a blast and “Moksa Organics” was born.

By eliminating the harmful chemicals, hand making all of their products—organic bath soaps, organic body oils, lotions and shea butters—eliminating “out sourcing” and multiple middle men, the Martins have made affordable and environmentally friendly products. There are no parabens or sulfates, no synthetics, no animal byproducts and no artificial preservatives or fragrances. All of Moksa Organics packaging is made from 100% post consumer waste. As they say tree-free baby! All of their glass containers are made from recycled glass and are completely reusable and recyclable. In addition, all of the ink used is soy based and non toxic to prevent ground contamination. To offset their carbon footprint, they received a certification from Climate Safe. All of the offsets are used locally to purchase trees for Alachua Conservation Fund. They also donate a portion of profits to a number of pro-active environmental groups and non-profit organizations.

All of Moksa Organic ingredients are certified organic, and their blends were chosen to have the least amount of impact on the environment. They have taken special action to avoid the use of any plastic. Rainforests are in danger of deforestation due to commercial growth of palm plantations. That means they do not use palm oils. What's more is that they have made their products more affordable than most products in the market.

Bottom line, they've literally and figuratively poured their passion into each other and into every batch of organic soap, body oil, shea butter and other organic body products they've created.
